You travel over the Anti-Atlas Mountains as far as Agdz, a oasis town well-known for the variety of its palm dates. As you start to descend the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass (1660m), you will be amazed by the splendid views of the extensive green oases and the innumerable palm trees, all indicating the beginning of the Dra’a Valley.
After a visit to Kasbah Tamnougalte, you travel north via the Dra’a Valley’s unlimited palm trees and green oases and along the ancient Caravans Road as far as Zagora, the last town before the Sahara Desert and the venue for lunch. Then, you continue further south as far as M’hamid, the end of the paved road and the gate to the mighty Sahara Desert. You continue to Erg Chegaga dunes with about 65km of off-road driving through the varying features of the Sahara; ‘erg’ (dunes), ‘hammada’ (stony desert) and oases.
At the campsite, you check in to your tent and enjoy a relaxing glass of tea and Moroccan biscuits. Then, you take a camel ride to the summit of the Erg Chegaga dunes (300 m) to enjoy the sunset. These dunes are far away from civilization, and the silence and the expanse of the sand are overwhelming.
Back at the camp, dinner is served under the Sahara starlit sky, followed by an evening of nomad music and drumming around a campfire. You spend the night in your tent, equipped with a private toilet & shower, king-sized bed, mattresses, sheets, pillows, blankets & carpets, lamps and beautiful Moroccan furnishings, all tastefully arranged to enhance your stay.

Posted on FloordM03/03/2026Verified 10 out of 10! Very good and informative tour, our guide Mustapha was very nice, funny, and knowledgeable. We were with our 5 year old daughter, its a bit of a walk, but she enjoyed it as well. It will be busy whenever you go. There are toilets inside the complex. Much architecture to be admired, better to read up before you go as it is so busy during the day that you need to know what you are looking at.Posted on Satinder M22/02/2026Verified As we experienced this tour its not worth the money The guide spoke good English & was very knowledgeable. We didn't feel the tour was worth the money because the guide did not show us the sooks properly. He didn't take us to the speciality areas such as spice or leather or jewellery. He spend far too much time at the Bahia Palace and gave us very long, very repetitive talks in every room which was very boring. He spent very little time at the tombs because he didn't take us to the King's room which had a very long line. Our suggestion would be to go to the tombs first.Posted on Michele W20/02/2026Verified Super après-midi ! Je recommande vivement !Posted on Petra S05/02/2026Verified Amazing day discovering the heart of Marrakech Excellent city tour in Marrakech! Communication in advance was excellent — the agency Moments in Morocco informed us via WhatsApp with all important details, and we received the guide’s personal contact information the day before. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the country, culture, and local people, with great English. He brought us closer to local traditions and daily life, was very flexible, and picked us up directly at our riad. A perfectly organized personal tour which we‘d highly recommend!Posted on Beverley J05/02/2026Verified Good experience The tour guide was fun to spend time with and knowledgeable. The walk and tour were interesting and worth it for the experience.Posted on Lili6205/02/2026Verified Overall disappointing We were disappointed in this tour in so far as it advertised a visit of the souk ( that didn't happen) and the tour ended half an hour early. It was very quick walking so difficult to take photos and we didn't like the fact the offer to stop for a tea was in fact an xcuse to take us to a herb shop where we all got taken for a ride and ended up paying more than we expected to for the items (the shopkeeper filled bags to the brim with ridiculous amounts). We booked though Get Your Guide thinking we would be avoiding this kind of practice - obviously not and I guess the guide gets a backhander from the shop afterwards. The guide appeared extremely knowledgeable but no-one in the party knew anything about Moroccan history - when we did ask him to translate something in Arabic, he couldn't.Tripadvisor rating score: 4.9 of 5, based on 219 reviews
